Pukadog Rocks!

I said that I would be adding posts about other things than just weddings.  Things that are must sees or great  things to do.  Well here is the fist post like that.

A few days ago I was on Kauai to shoot a wedding.  You can see some of the images from the post a few days ago.  I had a little down time and was a bit hungry.  I was walking around the mall in Poipu and found a restaurant that I will definitely be returning to as often as possible.  Now I love great food and fine dining and get the opportunity with my job to eat at some of the best restaurants and resorts around the world.  I especially love Mama’s Fish House on Maui but along with fine dining I have to admit that I also love Hot Dogs.  Well I had the best one of my life at Pukadog on Kauai.  I did not have time to really shoot any shots there as I was enthralled with my dog and fresh lemon aid.  That is all they serve.  A dog ( Polish or Vegi), fresh lemonade and that is it unless you want to add a bag of Hawaiian potato chips.  It comes in a bun that does not open.  They slide the dog in from the end.  You have your choice of some of the greatest tropical relishes to add to it, can get it either mild, medium or hot, with a sweet garlic butter and OMG was it great.  I almost feel like hopping the Super Ferry and driving over to Waikiki for lunch.  Pukadog  opened up a second location on Oahu.  I will be stopping by when we go there for a wedding next month.  Here is a shot of their van I shot from my car window while I was leaving to shoot the wedding.  I was so glad to find this great spot.  I would like to help them with some great photos for their web site.  I would trade for Pukadog’s for a year:)  I think I will ask. Any way try it if you are on Kauai or around Waikiki.

Great Wedding on Kauai Yesterday

Yesterday morning Steph dropped me off at the airport and I hopped a plane to Kauai to shoot a wedding.  I got there rented a car and headed to Poipu. The wedding was at the Plantation Gardens Restaurant.  It was the first time I have shot at that site and it was a great location.  Our couple Cynthia and Shawn were so nice.  It was a pleasure shooting them.  After the wedding I drove back to the airport and then flew back to Maui.  It was way better than driving in LA  traffic and was about like driving to Santa Barbara from Orange County.  I would much rather fly to another Island and back than drive all that way.  Anyway it was a great day and I had a few hours of down time to Listen to Dane Sanders Fast Track Photographer for about the fourth time.  I am getting ready to make some very cool changes.  This blog was one of the first but we have a lot more to come.  Stay tuned.  On a side note I want to give props to MAC cosmetics.  I think their products make brides look great and they give part of their proceeds from their Red Line to Africa.  They give out grants for AIDS projects and I will be applying for one for our Africa project

Another Beautiful Maui Wedding

Friday we shot a great wedding for Monique and Marshal.   It was  a very fun wedding where most of the guests were from Vancouver Island, British Columbia.  Monique was such a trooper.  We were doing beach shots and she stepped on a bee that had washed up on the shoreline.  I pulled out the stinger and we went right back to shooting.  We got some great shots and I am sure they will be very happy with their images.  Here are a few I chose to share with you.

We shot this wedding for Leah at Island Wedding Memories.  She also is a great flower designer as you can see with these bouquets. She is a pleasure to work with and a very good wedding coordinator.

FOB

I can not be old enough to be the Father Of The Bride. I know, I am in denial. Here is the link to the wedding of the summer. All the weddings we shoot are special but this one had a special place in my heart because my daughter, Sally was the bride. That is why I was all dressed up in the photo of me in the intro to this blog. It was a great wedding and I hope you enjoy these great shots. Chelsea shot these. Talk about some pressure. Shooting the wedding of the daughter of the boss. Well I think you will agree she did a great job. As she says I taught her everything show knows. Well that might be partly true but she has a great eye and is a very good shooter. Click on orange triancle in the box below the photo to see the slide show.

Happy Anniversary!

Scott and Jennifer were married on September 13th last year.  I just started do a Facebook site and Jennifer found me and added me as a friend.  I love some of the photos of their wedding and thought it would be a great way to kick off our new blog.  Hope you enjoy them.  This is a background we are playing around with.  What do you think?  Boarder or no boarder?
